Portugal Steel 2016

The Portugal Steel ISEP 2016 seminar was organized by the Civil Engineering Department (DEC) from ISEP (Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto) in partnership with the Portuguese Metallic and Mixed Construction Association (CMM). After the first edition in 2013, the initiative returned under the theme “The Challenges of BIM in Metallic Construction“, and took place on May 11 at the Auditório E.

The Portugal Steel ISEP 2016 in ISEP happened during a period of a good implementation of the BIM (Building Information Modeling) methodology in the Master in Civil Engineering (MEC) course, which culminated in the development of several dissertations and internships in business environment and in the constitution of an academic group – ISEPBIM.

In this edition, the organizing committee aimed to increase the national and international projection of the Portuguese metallic and mixed construction sector, highlighting the advantages of using the BIM methodology, as well as giving greater emphasis to metallic and mixed construction in the academic context in Portugal.

The program of the event was attended by distinguished figures and framed with the topic under discussion, namely: Professor Miguel Azenha (DEC of the University of Minho); Eng. Emília Cabral (Construsoft); Eng. Inês Grilo and Arq. Nuno Rocha and Porfírio (A1V2); Eng. Adriano Lopes (SE2P); Eng. Bruno Costa (Garsteel); Eng. Luís Santos (Leica Geosystems), among others.

Portugal Steel ISEP 2016 was intended for all faculty, researchers and professionals in the field of AECO (Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Promotion) industry, as well as students of Higher Education.
